Dick provides guidance and support for Baldwin Gilman’s non-profit practice.  Dick has recruited hundreds of non-profit staff members during a United Way career spanning 42 years and 9 cities, including serving as President of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati (1987—2001), and Interim President in Philadelphia and Columbus.  As a volunteer, he has chaired dozens of executive search committees for civic, arts, education and health/human service organizations.

In addition to his professional experience, Dick has served on numerous non-profit boards. He understands the variety of skills required to manage non-profit organizations and their programs/services.  Non-profit Search Chairs routinely ask his advice in setting search parameters, identifying and screening candidates and negotiating terms of employment with finalists.  As an instructor in “ethics” for Xavier University’s Graduate School of Business, he is in constant contact with issues that confront leaders of all organizations and institutions.

Dick holds a Master of Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership & Development from the Union Institute.
