Barry leads the marketing and sales practice area at Baldwin Gilman.  He works with a clients ranging from regional advertising agencies to global market research firms and corporate marketing departments.  He manages searches for a variety of management-level positions in areas such as product management, brand management, public relations, advertising, account management/client services,  marketing research and sales/business development.

Prior to joining BG, Barry served as a marketing and business leader in several industries including health care, retail and food service.  Having held roles in marketing and sales management, Barry's intuition, insight and first-hand knowledge provide him with a unique understanding and firm grasp on what it takes to perform these roles successfully.  His previous experiences have also provided him with an extensive network of marketing, market research, advertising, design and sales talent (both client and supplier side).  "I've worn a number of marketing, sales and executive hats throughout my career, so I have a solid understanding of what it takes to be successful.  I know the right questions to ask, and have a great network to tap into." 

As a former executive in two family-owned businesses, combined with his experience on the Board of Advisors for the Goering Center for Family and Private Business, Barry has a unique perspective on the nuances and challenges of recruiting for family-owned and privately-held businesses.  "It's a unique challenge to recruit for a family-owned business or privately-held company.  You have to find an individual who not only has the skills for the job, but also has the personality that blends into the culture."  He successfully performs a number of executive level searches for family-owned businesses each year.

Barry received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard.
