Baldwin Gilman Announces Addition Of "bg Behavioral Assessment" To Retained Search Process

New Assessment Tool Enables Company to Quickly and More Accurately Assess Whether a Candidate’s Natural Behaviors are a Good Fit for a Position

(Cincinnati, OH; January 13, 2010) - Baldwin Gilman LLC, a Cincinnati-based executive search firm, announced today the addition of the bg Behavioral Assessment to its candidate evaluation process. The bg Behavioral Assessment will be a standard inclusion in all of Baldwin Gilman’s retained searches. When combined with face-to-face interviews with candidates, the assessment provides added information about each candidate to better assess whether a candidate’s natural behaviors are a good fit for a position. As an added benefit to companies, it also can help to enhance managerial competencies and improve organizational effectiveness.

The bg Behavioral Assessment is a quick, easy and reliable on-line survey that identifies combinations of specific natural behavioral traits that affect how a person works most effectively and reacts under stress. The survey takes about five minutes to complete and Baldwin Gilman is using the assessment to 1) help companies ‘define’ and benchmark the behaviors and traits required for success in a specific job and, 2) identify information about a candidate’s strengths and behavioral motivators. The results are shared with the candidate as well as Baldwin Gilman and the employer.

"We believe we are the first executive search and recruiting firm in the Cincinnati area to add this tool to our candidate evaluation process," said Tom Gilman, President and CEO of Baldwin Gilman. "We believe in only presenting the absolute best candidates for a position and this tool will help us do that. It’s also a way to add more value for our clients."

Michele Plessinger, a Baldwin Gilman Search Consultant, has received extensive training on the assessment tool from its developer, PDP Inc., and is a Certified PDP Administrator. Said Ms. Plessinger, "When we ask our clients what it takes to be successful in their job and company, they give us a list of soft skills like high energy or decisiveness. Now we have a tool that reveals those softer skills. We can even take it a step further and compare it to the client’s job model, enabling us to match the candidate to the job on those key skills."

The bg Behavioral Assessment is automatically included in all retained searches, and available for other assignments at an additional cost.
